FAQ

FAQ and disclaimers

  • Which areas and record repositories do you cover?

All 254 counties in Texas are covered, from Anderson to Zavala.
Our team members visit District Courts, County Courts, Federal Courts, Recorders Offices, and the office of the Secretary of the State.

  • Do you perform all your searches at the Courthouse itself?

Yes.  All ABK team members in all 254 counties go to the courthouses and records repositories.

  • How much time do your searches cover?

At ABK, our search will cover the amount of time that you want it to. If you order a full index search, we will search back to the subject’s 18th birthday and/or the end of the index, whichever comes first.

  • Do you have the capability to accept assignments and deliver results electronically?

ABK has learned from the well-publicized mistakes of other high-profile firms.  We accept work assignments only by Fax.  Requests for status of orders may be made by e-mail, but please use the file reference number that you give your order only, NOT the name of the search subject and certainly NOT any of the identifying numbers to that subject.
We at ABK Research take every measure possible to ensure your subjects’, and your, confidentiality.

  • How long may I expect my search to take?

Since your search is being performed by people at the actual courthouses, time service will vary. Generally speaking, we can return information to you within 24 to 48 hours in more populous counties, 48 to 72 hours in more remote counties. Any copies you need may take a bit longer. Please let us know in advance of any  deadlines for searches.
